Anger as tree gets the chop for Weymouth relief road

Well done to Vicky for her protesting about the loss of this tree and the road development. Shame it was too late for that tree, but let's hope the bad press forces the council to consult with local residents more in future.

Around the world in 80 Faiths

Hi All

Has anyone else seen this? It's on bbc2. There is an Anglican minister looking at 80 different faiths around the world. The first episode (which if you didn't catch it can be watched on bbc i player) looked at Indonesia and Australia. In it they looked at urban witchcraft in Sydney, Australia. The minister had quite happily gone round faiths that has been in some way incorporated into Islam, Catholisism and Christianity fine, he'd even been ok with tribal faiths. But witchcraft produced a really strong reaction in him. He also described it as 'worshipping nature'.

I was wondering what others reactions to this were? I feel although the Earth is nature she can be worshipped as a Goddess; he went on to talk to a tribe in Tanna who deify the volcano on their island and talk to it, and he didn't describe that as nature worship? And to be honest i felt his reaction was a little over the top. Maybe those of us who practice witchcraft are better qualified to let us know what they think.

I'm wondering if he will cover Heathenism, Druidism or Eclectic Paganism and what he'll make of them...

cornwall!

well january is here and we have just booked a holiday ,finally plucked up the courage to drive to Cornwall! (well Nicola has!).going on the 5th april ,should be lovely and warm!!!. This time going in the car saving the camper for summer. we are staying near the lizard i thought wed drive as far a possible..... i know theres lots of places of interest but if anyone knows any that arnt always listed please let us know, thanks and bb sam

Pagan Chaplain

Hi All

Simon and Andy have been doing alot behind the scenes in the police force to promote Paganism in general and to give Pagan police officers a voice.

I have succesfully put myself forward to be a Pagan/Heathen Chaplain for Hertfordshire Constabulary. I will begin working with them in 2009. It feels like a really good thing to do, hopefully Pagan officers will feel more comfortable 'coming out of the broom closet' now they are represented in the Chaplaincy.

If there are enough Pagans coming forward we may get to set up a Pagan Police Association!

if your like me and completely lose track of the days, and how long it is since visiting the pagan camp site, while im here id like to wish everyone a very merry yule and the brightest blessing
After Dawns information we have now cleared morrisons shelves of mead. we have willows song yule cd (more soon please!) and storing up food for the yule feast ,its going to be hard but im sure i can manage to drink it all!!!

Yule Trio - Charity CD

As some of you may already know I have an ongoing musical project called Willo's Song currently recording a Pagan folk album 'The Storyteller' for release next year.

However, Yule Trio E.P. is a new 3 song charity CD released just last week!

The inspiration came after discovering some beautiful lyrics which were reworkings of well known tradional songs but with Pagan themes to celebrate Yule. I decided to set these to music and make them available as an alternative to the same songs we hear year after year. The songs featured are:

My name's Leanne, i'm 19 and from Liverpool, i found out about Pagan Camp through Herb Moon's Ebay site and website and it sounds amazing, i'm hoping to come to the 2009 camp :-D
I'm pretty new to paganism but i've always been very interested in it, at the moment i'm trying to read as many books as i can to gain a better understanding of the craft :-)
